JOCKEY CLUB MARES MAIDEN FINAL – NOW AT CHADDESLEY CORBETT – 27TH MAY

Please be aware that due to the abandonment of the Berkeley at Woodford, due to have run on 27th April, that the Jockey Club Novice Champion Mares Final from that card, has now been moved to the Albrighton & Woodland meeting, due to take place on Monday 27th May. It will be the 5th race on the card, and replaces the original JC Mares and Fillies Maiden.

The Jockey Club NOVICE CHAMPION FINAL Race for Mares and Fillies, 3m, 11st 7lbs

PRIZE MONEY 1st £400, 2nd £200, 3rd £100

SPECIAL CONDITIONS For Mares and Fillies which this season have either run in a Mares Maiden, been entered in a Mares Maiden which has then been abandoned, or won another Maiden, in the current season. This race is designated as a MAIDEN race but the BHA has given special dispensation to allow those horses, which have also won Point-to-Point races that would normally exclude them, to run.

PENALTIES Those Mares or Fillies, which have won any Point-to-Point race other than a MAIDEN, FLAT or HUNT MEMBERS Point-to-Point race, to carry 5lb extra. Penalties are not cumulative.

Please also note that a JRL sponsored flat race has also been added to this card – it will be run as the last race. Due to these additional races, the race times have also been adjusted, by being brought forward one hour, they are now;

1.00 pm Race 1 Novice Riders

1.35 pm Race 2 Restricted

2.10 pm Race 3 Ladies Open

2.45 pm Race 4 Mens Open

3.20 pm Race 5 Jockey Club Mares Novice Final (amended race)

3.55 pm Race 6 Open Maiden

4.30 pm Race 7 JRL Group Flat Race (new race)

The conditions for the JRL race are;

The JRL Group four and five years old Point-to-Point FLAT Race

For horses which are maiden four and five-year-olds, which have not run under the Rules of any recognised Racing Authority (Point-to-Point Steeplechases included; Point-to-Point Flat races excepted), and which have not run in more than two Point-to-Point Flat races or won a Point-to-Point Flat race; for riders who have either (i) ridden more than 5 winners prior to the Thursday before the date of this Point-to-Point Steeplechase or (ii) in addition to a Point-to-Point RQC hold a current Category A or Category B Permit to ride under Rules; to be run over approximately two miles
